While looking towards new data and developing ideas of earthquake
occurrence, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and other known scientists now
conclude that there is a 62% probability of at least one magnitude 6.7 or
greater quake hitting somewhere in the San Francisco Bay Area before 2032. Because of our proximity to the moving
plates of the San Andreas Fault and Hayward
Fault, this theory is more than just any conjecture. However, although
scientists have identified the future catastrophe, it is our job now to prepare
for the worst.
